Overview
What is e-commerce SEO?
E-commerce SEO is the work of getting an online store's category, collection and product pages to rank in organic search and Google Shopping, and turning that traffic into sales. Most of the revenue sits in category pages, so the work centers on them: keyword-mapped categories, faceted navigation that doesn't flood Google with junk URLs, complete product structured data and Merchant Center free listings. It applies on Shopify, WooCommerce and headless builds alike.

What problems does an e-commerce SEO engagement solve?
An e-commerce SEO engagement solves three common problems: “Our ad costs climb while organic sales stay flat”, “Our filters created thousands of junk URLs” and “Our product pages repeat the manufacturer's copy”. Each one has a fix.
The problem
- “Our ad costs climb while organic sales stay flat”Every sale costs a click. Category pages that rank for high-intent searches bring buyers in without paying for each visit.
- “Our filters created thousands of junk URLs”Faceted navigation multiplies URLs for every color, size and sort order. Googlebot spends its time there while the categories you care about get crawled less.
- “Our product pages repeat the manufacturer's copy”Hundreds of stores publish the same text. Without unique copy, specs, reviews and complete product data, Google has no reason to rank yours.
What changes
- Sales without paying per clickRanking category pages bring in ready-to-buy shoppers you don't pay for on every visit.
- Lower blended acquisition costAs organic covers more of your best categories, you can pull ad spend back on the terms you already own.
- Products that stand outPrice, stock and rating details show right in search and Shopping, so shoppers pick you before they click.
- Revenue you can traceOrganic sales are reported by category, so you know exactly which pages pay for the work.

FAQ
Questions about E-commerce SEO
Something else on your mind? Email grow@noorscale.com and a person will reply within one business day.
Which pages matter most for e-commerce SEO?
Category and collection pages, for most stores. They match the high-intent searches shoppers make before they've picked a product, such as 'waterproof hiking boots', and they collect internal links from across the site. Product pages matter too, but they usually win long-tail and branded searches rather than the big ones.
How much do e-commerce SEO services cost?
It's typically a monthly retainer, scoped by catalog size, the number of categories that need content, platform constraints and how much development support you need. You get a written scope covering the first three months after a free call.
How long does e-commerce SEO take to drive sales?
Technical fixes such as faceted navigation rules and schema usually show in Search Console within weeks. Category rankings and organic revenue build over 4–8 months, faster for specific long-tail categories and slower for broad terms dominated by marketplaces. We plan seasonal pages months ahead of demand.
Is e-commerce SEO worth it if we already run Google Shopping ads?
Yes, the two work best together. Shopping ads buy visibility one click at a time, while organic rankings and free listings bring traffic you don't pay for per visit. As organic grows, you can pull spend back on the terms you already own.
Which e-commerce platforms do you work with?
Shopify, WooCommerce and headless builds such as Shopify Hydrogen or Next.js storefronts. Each limits SEO differently: WooCommerce often needs archive and pagination cleanup, Shopify has fixed URL patterns to work around, and headless stores need rendering checks on every template.
Can you fix Shopify's duplicate product URLs?
Yes, and it's one of the most common Shopify problems. Shopify serves products at both /products/ and /collections/.../products/ paths, and while it canonicalizes to /products/, many themes still link internally to the collection path, which wastes crawling and splits signals. We fix the theme's internal links, review robots.txt.liquid and clean up tag and filter pages.
Should our filter pages be indexed?
Only some of them. A filter combination deserves an indexable page when people actually search for it, such as a material or color plus the category, and the rest should stay out of the index or out of the crawl. We set those rules from search demand, not guesswork.
Do we need unique descriptions for every product?
You can build them up over time. Start with best sellers and products with real search demand, and give them unique copy, specs, FAQs and reviews, while long-tail products follow a template. The aim is that no important page repeats the manufacturer's text word for word.
Can our products show up in ChatGPT shopping answers?
Yes, ChatGPT and other assistants recommend products when people ask shopping questions, and they favor products with clear names, prices, specs and reviews they can find. Complete product pages, accurate Product schema, consistent pricing across channels and third-party reviews all help. We track your products for your key shopping prompts.
