How to use it
How to use the Schema Validator
- 1Paste or fetchPaste JSON-LD, a script tag or a whole HTML page, or enter a URL and we read every JSON-LD block from the raw HTML.
- 2Fix errors firstErrors mean Google will ignore the entity or the whole block. JSON syntax errors show the line and column.
- 3Work through warningsWarnings are recommended properties that enable rich result features or help AI engines understand the entity.
- 4Confirm in GoogleWhen the verdict says eligible, open Google's Rich Results Test with one click to confirm against Google's live rules.
Reading your result
What the result means
- Error
- A required property is missing or invalid, or the JSON doesn't parse. Google skips invalid markup, so errors mean the markup does nothing until fixed.
- Warning
- A recommended property is missing. The markup still works, but you're leaving out details that rich results and AI answers would use.
- Rich result eligible
- The entity's type powers a Google rich result (Product, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Event, Organization, LocalBusiness) and has no errors. Eligibility doesn't guarantee Google shows it.
- Valid, no rich result type
- Service, Person and WebSite have no rich result of their own but still help engines understand your business entity. Valid markup here is worth keeping.
- Line numbers
- In paste mode, lines count from the start of what you pasted. In URL mode, the block's line is where it sits in the page source.

What's the difference between this and Google's Rich Results Test?
Google's tool tells you whether Google will show a rich result, using its live rules. This validator explains why: every required and recommended property per type, with line numbers, and it runs instantly as you type. Use both: fix here, confirm there.
Does Google still show FAQ rich results?
No, not for most sites. Since 2023 Google limits FAQ rich results to authoritative government and health sites. FAQPage markup is still valid and still helps AI engines read your answers, so keep it if the questions appear on the page.
Why does my schema validate here but not show in Google?
Valid markup is a prerequisite, not a guarantee. Google also checks that the content on the page matches the markup, that the page is indexed, and that the result type is one it shows for your site. Mismatched or hidden content is the most common cause.
Should I use JSON-LD or microdata?
JSON-LD. Google recommends it, it's easier to maintain because it sits in one script block, and this validator checks it. Microdata still works but is harder to keep accurate as pages change.
Can I validate several blocks at once?
Yes. Paste a whole HTML page or several script tags and each block is validated separately. In URL mode every JSON-LD block on the page is read, including nested @graph entities.
Does this tool send my markup anywhere?
No. Paste mode runs entirely in your browser. URL mode fetches the page from our server, extracts the blocks, and the validation still runs in your browser. Nothing is stored.
